Example data

What your audience sees on their phones.

  1. 1Choose a language. The original audio can be offered too.
  2. 2The interpretation plays a moment behind the speaker.
  3. 3Show text: read along as live text.

How to listen

  1. Scan the event's QR code or open the listening link.
  2. If there are several rooms, choose a room.
  3. Choose your language.
  4. Put on headphones and tap to start the audio.

No app, no account and no payment. Listening is always free. Phones and computers with a modern browser work.

  • Show text shows the interpretation as live text under the player.
  • Change language switches channel at any time.
  • You can install Spiiksi to your home screen when the browser offers it (Install Spiiksi). It's optional.

Common listener problems

"Waiting for the event to start" / "Not live right now". The speaker hasn't gone live yet, or translation is paused because it's quiet. It starts by itself; keep the page open.

Example data

Messages a listener may see.

  1. 1Not live yet, or paused because it's quiet.
  2. 2The event has reached its listener limit.
  3. 3A password-protected room.

No sound.

  • Tap the play button; phones need a tap before they play audio.
  • Check the phone isn't muted and the volume is up.
  • Check headphones are connected (Bluetooth sometimes connects to another device).
  • If the speaker is silent, the interpretation pauses too.

"Connection error" / "You are offline". Check Wi-Fi or mobile data. The page reconnects automatically.

"This event is full". The event has reached its listener limit (3 for a demo event, 100 on Basic, 500 on Pro). You are let in as soon as someone leaves. The organizer can raise the limit by upgrading.

"This listening link could not be opened". The link may be wrong or the event no longer available. Ask the organizer for the current link.

"This channel is no longer available". The organizer removed that language. Pick another one.

A locked room.

  • Password: type the password the organizer gave you.
  • Invited people only: sign in with the email you were invited with. If it says "This account is not on the guest list", ask the organizer to add that address.

My language isn't listed. On events that allow it, tap Don't see your language? Ask for it. The organizer sees how many people asked and can add it during the event.

The interpretation lags behind. A delay of a few seconds is normal: the interpreter needs to hear part of a sentence before it can translate.

Who counts as a listener

One phone or browser listening at the same time. Switching languages counts once, and organizers checking their own event don't count.
